Barrier performance
Investigate the reduction achieved by the barrier arrangement, with source conditions, receiver positions and site limitations documented.
Noise control / field verification
Assess the acoustic performance of road, rail and temporary noise barriers. S&V Teknik brings field measurement and noise-control engineering together to help project teams evaluate the installed system.

The question behind the test
Investigate the reduction achieved by the barrier arrangement, with source conditions, receiver positions and site limitations documented.
Discuss in-situ airborne sound insulation testing where the specified method and site access permit an appropriate assessment.
Compare baseline and post-installation noise measurements, accounting for changes in activity, traffic and measurement conditions.
A complete installation
A barrier’s performance at a receiver depends on its height, length, position and continuity. Ground gaps, open joints, gates and sound travelling around the ends can influence the measured result.
Our assessment starts with the engineering question: are you evaluating the barrier itself, investigating a weak point, or checking noise at a nearby property? These require different measurement arrangements.
From site brief to findings
Review drawings, source activity, receiver locations, access arrangements and the project’s test requirements.
Record the agreed acoustic measurements together with instrumentation checks, site observations and operating conditions.
Present the agreed results, test arrangement and limitations, with practical recommendations where investigation identifies concerns.
Engineering experience
S&V’s company profile documents acoustic testing at SUKE and LRT3, alongside its noise barrier and enclosure work on major Malaysian infrastructure projects.

Questions before testing
No. Insertion loss describes a change in sound level associated with introducing a barrier under a defined comparison. Sound insulation concerns sound transmitted through the barrier. They answer different questions and should not be used interchangeably.
Yes. We can discuss baseline and post-installation measurements or monitoring for a temporary arrangement. The assessment scope depends on the source, operating schedule, receiver positions and access.
The result must be assessed against the agreed project criterion and a suitable test method. A panel rating or a simple before-and-after level difference does not establish site compliance on its own.
Include the site location, barrier drawings or photographs, dimensions, source type, operating hours, proposed test requirement and available access windows.
